It is easy to apply them with a hot iron on the surface of the desired garment (be careful not to apply the patch on a synthetic surface that would melt or burn).

How? Cover the patch with a cloth such as a damp tea towel so the patch doesn't burn. If the fabric is cotton, set the iron to cotton mode.
